Based in St Andrews, the ‘home of golf’ and Scotlands oldest university, Tourism IMP Ltd (Integrated Marketing Platform) is the creative hub behind a portfolio of initiatives that connect people, place, and purpose. From community voices and visitor engagement to character-led campaigns, each project reflects our vision of innovative, sustainable tourism and cultural storytelling.
Our Vision
Together, these initiatives showcase how Tourism IMP is rethinking tourism and community engagement: integrated, creative, and always rooted in place.

A Living Portfolio of Ideas
At Tourism IMP, our initiatives are at different stages of development — some established, others emerging — but all united by creativity, community impact, and the potential to grow.
-
The Voice is preparing for its pilot launch in St Andrews, with Phase 1 currently attracting investment from councils, public funds, and private partners. Its model is designed to be replicated in towns and communities far beyond St Andrews.
-
The St Andrews Visitor Guide is already in wide circulation and trusted by visitors, but is now seeking investment to expand its reach and digital capabilities.
-
St. Asia Golf is actively exploring partnerships with leading golf tourism operators in St Andrews and across Asia.
-
Baxter the Boar & Friends is in development, with plans for crowdfunding and collaborations to bring its stories, characters, and merchandise to life.
-
Gary the Gull began as a local awareness campaign in St Andrews, but following national recognition at the Scottish Gull Summit, it is being positioned for roll-out across Scotland and the wider UK.
Each of these initiatives represents not only a project in its own right, but also an invitation to get involved. Whether as an investor, a partner, or a contributor, there are opportunities to support their growth and help shape their future.

The (St Andrews) Voice
–
A community-driven platform designed to connect, inform, and engage. St Andrews Voice provides a neutral hub for local news, discussions, events, and insights, empowering residents, organisations, and stakeholders to collaborate and shape the town’s future.
St Andrews Visitor Guide
–
An established platform (since 2020) combining print, digital, and social media. With its annual 96–100 page printed guide, widely available across the town, a fold-out visitor map, and online resources, the Guide provides visitors and residents alike with trusted information about heritage, culture, and experiences in St Andrews. It has become an integrated marketing platform for the town.
Baxter the Boar & Friends
–
A family of characters — led by Baxter, guardian of St Andrews — who bring heritage, wildlife, and community stories to life. Through books, animations, school packs, and merchandise, Baxter and his friends inspire children and families to connect with local traditions in fun and memorable ways.
Gary the Gull
–
Part of Baxter’s world, Gary the Gull is a bold, streetwise character who fronts an educational campaign on gull management. Loved by children and families, Gary promotes positive behaviours such as proper waste disposal, reducing food waste, and respecting wildlife.
Gull Management Campaign
Building on Gary’s popularity, this initiative tackles real urban challenges. Through education, reporting tools, and national partnerships, St Andrews has become a model for how creativity and community can lead the way in managing wildlife responsibly — an approach now recognised at national level.
StAsia Golf
–
A forward-looking project that connects St Andrews — the historic home of golf — with Asia’s growing golf community. With bilingual staff, cultural expertise, and bespoke experiences, St. Asia Golf creates tailored tours and exchanges that strengthen ties between golf’s Scottish birthplace and its dynamic Asian future.
